The Repair Service
What I offer is a mobile to your door service in Washing Machine, Dishwasher and Tumble Dryer repairs covering towns in mid-Kent at fixed timed appointments, something that my regular customers appreciate. In this day and age and the busy life's that we all lead you need an appliance repair service engineer to rely on so you can organise your day around when it suites you, especially if you have to arrange time off from work. Which makes a change these days from a morning or afternoon call, that some manufactures or service organisations offer and they might just turn up -- if you're lucky!
As a rule I can get to you if not the same day, the next day or two days at the most. I work from Monday to Friday. Saturday mornings only if there is no other alternative. The times are from first call at 10am until the last call at 4pm. If a repair is not possible and a part is required, usually it takes about 2 to 3 working days to came through but obviously it depends on the part and availability. I always try keep you informed if there's any delay.
I don't have an automatic call-out charge (see paragraphs B and D below). The charges are:-
- £48.00 inclusive - plus if there are any parts required.
- £30.00 if I spend time finding out and identifying a part that needs replacing or a repair and you decide the cost, perhaps due to the age of the machine, you don't wish to go ahead. Or the machine is being extremely awkward and the fault refuses to show up, (you know like the dentist) either because its intermittent or healed itself or sulking, and is leaving no indication of what was the problem.
- £10.00 surcharge for integrated machines (built in) because you can spend a long time and effort getting them out and back in.
- To clarify, I do not charge the minute I enter your house, (which is the definition of a call-out charge, which a lot of people object to and quite rightly). If a fault is intermittent and it won't show up at the time, which I could spend some time on, but I make a repair or adjustment which I think from experience could be the problem but I can't prove it because the fault is not showing up. I would charge £48.00 BUT half is deducted from the total if I came back again should the fault re-appear. This I find fair for you and for me.
Payments can be made either by cheque or cash. I'm afraid I don't offer credit card facilities. Very few people ask for them funnily enough.
Sometimes a little discretion has to be applied. If I'm on site only a few minutes and a repair is not
necessary then I don't charge anything. It can depend on the
circumstances. What I prefer is a happy Customer! If you feel hard done by, then I won't
get your custom again, you'll take your business elsewhere. As simple as
that! Just to get things into perspective regarding charges manufacturers are currently charging
between £60.00 to over £100.00 call-out charge, that is as soon as they enter
your front door. They might be only a few minutes! Then parts can be on
top! Wow!
